Commercial strategy
Clarifying the market, proposition, priorities and route to sustainable revenue.
I’m George Blandford—business owner, investor and growth partner. Guru Digital brings that experience to your website and marketing.

Running a business is demanding enough without having to coordinate a different supplier for every part of your marketing.
I built Guru Digital to bring the website, visibility, content and enquiries together around one clear plan. It starts with understanding your business: what you sell, who you want to reach and what is holding you back.
You might need a better website first, or a more involved growth partnership. Either way, the aim is the same: practical work, clear priorities and someone accountable for moving things forward.

For more than 15 years, I’ve been building, scaling, investing in and advising businesses. My career began in digital marketing, where I developed one of the UK’s established specialist search agencies and worked with businesses across a wide range of industries.
That gave me a deep understanding of websites, search, paid acquisition, content, digital PR and online authority.
Running and investing in companies taught me the more important lesson: activity means very little unless it creates commercial progress.
“When the enquiries slow down or the sales team misses target, it isn’t an abstract marketing problem. It affects cash flow, staff, investment decisions—and the owner’s family.”George Blandford
Alongside the businesses I have founded, I work with selected companies as a fractional commercial and growth partner. In some cases, I invest time, experience, resources or capital in return for equity.
That changes the question to: what will make this business stronger and more valuable?
Clarifying the market, proposition, priorities and route to sustainable revenue.
Improving how opportunities are handled, followed up and converted into profitable work.
Connecting visibility, demand generation and measurement into one joined-up operation.
Building the people, processes and technology required to scale beyond the next campaign.
My involvement in businesses across different sectors keeps the strategy connected to real commercial decisions.
A selection of websites built across different sectors. My Health Pal is shown in its current rebuild stage.
My involvement with The Custom Door Company gave me direct experience of growing a local home-improvement business. It wasn’t a theoretical client exercise. I became commercially involved and helped build the systems needed to generate opportunities and support sustainable growth.
The owner was being asked to coordinate websites, advertising, SEO, social media and sales while running the company. That experience helped shape a more joined-up partnership.
Visibility only matters when it contributes to valuable enquiries, sales and sustainable margin.
Sometimes the constraint is conversion, capacity, positioning, follow-up or the wrong type of work.
A good plan considers delivery capacity, people, cash flow and the operational reality behind the target.
Five disconnected suppliers do not create a strategy. Business owners need joined-up responsibility.
I’ve trained and spoken to business owners and marketing professionals internationally. Teaching forces you to understand a subject properly.
It isn’t enough to repeat fashionable ideas—you need to explain why something works, how it applies in the real world and what to do when it doesn’t.
Members should understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and how it contributes to the commercial goal.

I’m also a husband and father. That matters because an owner-led company is rarely just a financial asset. It supports a family, creates jobs and represents years of personal risk.
When things go well, it can create enormous freedom. When they don’t, that pressure follows the owner home.
I understand the weight of being responsible for salaries, customers, commitments and the people who depend on you.
My role is to bring experience, structure and an honest outside perspective—while never forgetting that it is your business and your future.
One that understands the pressure. Looks beyond individual marketing channels. Gives honest commercial advice. And takes responsibility for helping turn ambition into measurable progress.
Guru Digital brings together commercial strategy, digital marketing, sales conversion, technology and dedicated growth management—under one accountable partnership.
